How can a person grow in faith? What is it that feeds his faith? What strengthens her in the midst of the trials of life? What encourages the Christian in the walk of faith? Isaiah points out to us the power of the Word of God. As the rain waters the earth and makes it grow, so the Word of God waters the soul of the believer and helps him to grow in life. That is the power of the Word for our lives. It is for that reason that we read, mark, learn and inwardly digest the Word of God.

Romans 8:12-17: (back of bulletin) Because of Christ we are children of God and heirs of salvation.  The Holy Spirit empowers us to live as children of God and to demonstrate this in our handling of all that God has entrusted to us—such things as life, time, talents and financial resources.  As God’s children we strive to use all of life and life’s resources for His purposes.

Church Directory – The first session of pictures for the directory will be this week and will be taken in the Parish Hall Lower Level (Wed.–Fri July 16-18 from 2:30-8:50 p.m.; Sat., July 19 from 10 a.m.-3:50 p.m.) Go to www.immanuelaltamont.org to sign up for your picture setting.

Submit a picture for the directory for a $10 fee with a “Publication Authorization” form filled out by the studio/professional that took picture (check for a publishing fee). Pictures taken by Lifetouch -- form not needed.

All Women of Immanuel are invited to attend the July 15, 7 p.m. meeting of the LWML.  Please bring your mite boxes.

LYF would like to borrow Ice Cream Freezers the week of July 21-27. Freezers (marked with your name) can be dropped off at the Parish Hall lobby.

LYF Food Stand at the Thresherman’s Show - Workers from Jr. & Sr. LYF families and anyone else are needed. Work times are Mon. July 21, 9:30 a.m--Fairstand clean-up; Tues-9:30 & Wed.-9:30: Make ice cream in parish hall kitchen; Fri./Sat/Sun. 3 work shifts each day. Sign up sheets are on the Parish Hall shelf, online or call Vern. "Thanks" to all who donated ice cream buckets.

ALIS Registration will be Monday, July 28 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. 483-6428 for ?’s.

Volunteer is needed during the school year to run copies once a week. Call 483-6428, if interested. Thank you to Renee Beccue for helping ALIS for many years!

ALIS has a part time position for a car driver. If interested call 618-483-6428.

Ladies will make pies for the fairstand on Thur., July 24 at 6 p.m.  Donations of fresh or frozen fruit, flour and shortening needed.  We need people to mix the pie dough, roll it out, prepare the fruit, and a clean up crew.  All help is appreciated.
