Day/Time Leaders Location Topic
Monday 1:30 pm Vern Spilker Parish Hall/Lower Level Life of Jesus: Parables
This study looks at the spiritual meaning behind many common parables of Jesus and how the message relates to the lives of God’s people. Usually some new insight develops as a result of discussion in class.
Monday 1:30 p.m. Pastor Schuessler Parish Hall/Lower Level Lutheran Spirituality: Witness
An excellent introductory course to make “sharing what you believe” a little easier knowing that Jesus promises to be with you.
Tuesday 7:00 am Marilyn Winter Parish Hall/Lower Level Good News: The Apostles' Creed
A refreshing look at each of the short phrases in the three articles and the meaning behind each one.  Reciting the Creed in worship will have a greater significance than ever before. This study is the latest issue of the Good News magazine, known for its awesome historical artwork and pictures.
Tuesday 1:00 p.m. Mildred Renken Marian Martin's Sent Forth by God's Blessing: Into the World
An LWML Bible study challenging each participant to reach out to the world starting right here in Altamont.
Tuesday 7:00 p.m. Vern Spilker Parish Hall/Lower Level God's Word for Today: Romans
If there ever was an epistle that really “hits home” for today’s Christian, this is it. This is a verse-by-verse study for those who like discussion in class.  Couples, singles, high school, young adults, young and old are welcome.
Wednesday 6:15 am Dave Corder with Vern Spilker Bill Wendling Men's Bible Class God's Word for Today: I Corinthians
Another in-depth look at the issues troubling the Corinthian congregation—which by the way, shows up in congregations today. A Men's Bible class around Bill’s kitchen or dining room table (with tea, coffee and warm rolls every week).
Wednesday 9:15 a.m.
Moms' Bible Study
Judy Burrow Parish Hall/Lower Level Bevilacqua
Would you believe an awesome women’s devotional book written by one of our own—Anneka (Wolff) Hudson!  A great discussion starter every week that is Biblically based. Immediately follows the A.L.I.S. chapel service.
Wednesday 10:00 a.m. Charlott Brauer and Margaret Fritcher Parish Hall/Lower Level Lutheran Spirituality: Prayers
Imagine being able to talk to the most powerful person in the world as your friend, who will provide you with what is best for you in every situation that comes up. You don’t have to imagine--it’s reality! God is beyond any person in the world. A good overview of how we can talk to God.
Wednesday 1:00 p.m. Robert Kassel/Bill Wendling Lutheran Care Center Terrace Life of Jesus:Parables
Jesus’ parables have meaning for everyone.  An “earthly story with a heavenly meaning”.  This class is held in the Lutheran Care Center Terrace “commons” area and is open to anyone, even those who may not live in the Terrace or Villas.
Thursday, 9:30 a.m. Shirley Muchow, Adela Goers, Dorothy Meier Parish Hall/Lower Level Great Women of the Bible: Eve, Sarah, Rebekah, Leah, Rachel
This is not your modern day “Desperate Housewives”.  Or is it?  Desperate maybe, but not modern day? Wellll?  Come and see what the Bible says about these well-known women.

All of these Bible study groups are open to everyone.  Participants do not need to be Immanuel members.  All groups could use more people.  Each group should be searching for more people to invite.
