There Still Is Room on the BUS!!
Bus trip youth and adults to the musical drama  “The Promise”   Friday, March 12th
We are chartering a bus to attend "The Promise" at Zion in Litchfield on Fri., Mar. 12th.  The bus will leave our north parking lot at 5:15 p.m. to arrive in time for the 7 p.m. performance.  Even though admission is free, cost of the bus is $13 per person. Adults of any age, grades 7 and above, youth, and families are all welcome.  That night’s performance includes youth group free pizza at intermission.

This is the 19th annual musical drama based on the life of Jesus, with special emphasis on Holy Week and Easter.  Over 100 cast members of all ages from infants to grandpas, present an excellent, top quality performance including staging, sound/light effects, acting, and singing all with a powerful Biblically based Christian message.

Reservations can be made by phone to 618-483-6395, or emailed to vspilker@frontiernet.net.  You may also visit our website at www.immanuelaltamont.org.  Payment in advance is requested at  $13/person and should be mailed to: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 203 E. Division St, Altamont, IL 62411.  Reservations are “first come-first to attend” up to 55 participants.

Fri-Sun. Mar. 5-7th   is O.A.F.C. Weekend here at Immanuel for adults & Jr./Sr. LYF
On the weekend of March 5th-7th, we will get to experience the OAFC TEAM’s sharing in songs, Bible studies, dramas, puppet plays, and in the highlight of their activities:  a canvass of our community on Saturday.

Everyone is invited to the opening sharing time on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. For the Saturday activities all of our youth are encouraged to attend, as well as any adults.

The OAFC ministry has been active for many years in our area, and a local leader is in place along with a core group of trained youth. This leader makes contact with his core group to invite them, and makes a general invitation to the youth groups of the area.

We will want to make a special effort to encourage people of all ages from our congregation to attend the Friday night activities and if you can help inspire nearby congregations, please do so!

Please call the church office to indicate how you (and/or your family) can participate.

I want to be a part of this OAFC outreach by:

In summary…..
There is much activity taking place with both the Jr. and Sr. LYF in the next months.  This means that there are many opportunities to serve your Lord, enjoy time with your friends, and even invite others to join you.

Please consider taking part in any or all events for which you are available.  You don’t have to wait for someone to contact you first.

Events listed may be designated “Jr” {for 7-8th graders), “Sr” (for 9-12th) or “Jr/Sr” (for both). “NLYG” designation is for those attending the National Lutheran Youth Gathering.  Parents are welcome to attend and assist for most events.

All youth, whether attending the NLYG or not, are encouraged to participate and work together in fund raising events.  A portion of the monies raised continues to be used for general youth activities in addition to the NLYG trip costs.  Those not attending the Gathering this summer may have an opportunity again in three years to attend the next Gathering and you will no doubt welcome the assistance of others at that time.
All of you are a part of the body of Christ-the Church, and specifically here at Immanuel.  You also have been given many, but different interests, gifts and talents with which to serve your Lord in response to what He has done for you.  We {including you} are all needed, as parts of the One Body, to make the Body of Christ work together to His glory.
